[Current Mood | full of chocolate!]

I just started riding the shark last night, and I was craving chocolate in an uncharacteristically intense way. But I didn't have any chocolate in the house, nor did I have any money to go buy some. So I found some cocoa powder and made fudge! Peanut butter pumpkinseed fudge, to be precise. It's been about ten years since the last time I made fudge, and I'd forgotten how easy it is and how good it tastes, and how much fun it is to lick the spoon.

Next time I think I'll try something kinky... like cinnamon-cayenne fudge.

Damn, I'm good!

BTW, I think this is the most appropriately topical userpic ever.

For Valentine's Day I made truffles for my husband. Holy hell was that a lot of work, but WORTH it! :) 6 different flavors, but the one he liked best I had dubbed "Aztec Gold". I infused the cream with cayenne and cinnamon extract, and then used it to make the ganache with 72% bittersweet chocolate. They were rolled in cocoa that had been lightened with some powdered sugar so that it wasn't quite so bitter. YUM!
