Which Larsen piece are you doing? I have a big ol' loving of her! My choir director in undergrad did his doctoral dissertation on Libby Larsen, and consequently formed a personal relationship with her, and so we did a WHOLE lot of her stuff! :)
Since I'm sadly unable to make the trip to SF (boo for it being so far away!), what pieces are on the program? I love to hear what programs will be even if I can't go to the performance.
You probably won't know it, as it was commissioned for the SFGC. It's called the Womanly Song of God. Very awesome!
I'm on the wrong side of the country! *pouts*
Is there going to be a CD or DVD?
Nope, we don't record our live concerts for ourselves to listen to, although they do record for archival purposes. But we recorded the Holst Ave Maria along with Chorissima @ Skywalker Sound last weekend, and that CD won't be released for several months. | |
